The city of Duri is burning again
After almost two years of smoke the shelf blanketed the city of Duri, Riau – Indonesia. Now the point of fire returns and causes a dreadful cloud of smoke to re-envelop the city.
February 16, 2018, RSF patrol team reported there were two hotspots found in different locations. One hotspot was found around Siak Road, Kelurahan Balai Makam and one more point was found in a location adjacent to the common eater in the Kelurahan Balik Alam.
Two points equally potentially burning the remaining green areas and causing a cloud of smoke that will undoubtedly cause damage to air conditions in the city and result in human health and also the habitat of animals that are now thinning.
Extreme weather changes cause severe damaged natural conditions, droughts that engulf the fire site to be the cause of the fires, and even the deliberate indications of burns occur in this fire.
RSF Apri Mansyah Putra patrol team said the fire point spread to Letter L for the location near the public cemetery of Alam Alam’s kelurhan, adding “The blowing wind made things worse, but thankfully the fire team could quickly put out the fire”.
