Save The Tiger Now..!!!!

Jumroh, Rohil (Rokan Hilir), Riau – Indonesia  – Conflict Prevention & Humanitarian conflict board installed by Rimba Satwa Foundation (RSF) along with Rohil Regency residents.

The seriousness shown by the RSF as an environmental agency in the prevention & handling of human & tiger conflicts in Senepis landscape is aimed by the installation of “Stop Hunting Tiger Prey” memorial board, as the first step in preventing and handling conflict in the territorial territory of Sumatran tiger in the landscape Senepis.

After a few years ago, the SOP (Standart Oprasional Procedure) was established with the stake holders from BAPPEDA Rokan Hilir, Rokan Hilir Police, KODIM 0320 DUMAI, KODIM 0321 ROKAN LAND & Society located in the intervening area of ​​Senepis landscape itself. Now the RSF has given an appeal to conflict-prone points based on previously collected data. According to Ade Kurniawan, the actual conflicts can be minimized and even prevented, if we are able to start. It was mentioned on the occasion of giving material about Landscape senepis in the occultation of “Alignment of Human & Tiger Conflict Mitigation Strategy” which led to SOPs agreed by stakeholders for integrated conflict management steps.

By sending 2 (two) field teams in charge of collecting data and approaching the community and providing a brief education related to Landscape Senepis and tiger with the aim of forming a conflict mitigation team, RSF seeks to save the Senepis landscape as well as the Sumatran Tiger population on a Community basis . This is justified by the Executive Director of RSF who is also responsible for the program at Landscape Giam Siak Kecil – Bukit Batu (GSK-BB) Zulhusni Syukri who said “Rescue Habitat and Animals can not be separated from the role of stakeholders and the community”. The conservation area conservation is implemented based on the community with the purpose of rescuing Habitat & also the charismatic animals in Sumatera region, ie Sumatran tiger and Sumatran elephant in threatened status.
